Ryan is an expert in Web 2.0 technologies: JavaScript (including AJAX and DOM manipulation), (X)HTML, and CSS and holds three issued patents in that space with several more pending. Ryan has extensive experience in Ruby on Rails among other programming languages and architectures, and has built complex, distributed systems bridging many of these technologies.

Ryan is the principal author of the inflection-js project, which is a port of the functionality from Ruby on Rails' Active Support Inflection classes into Javascript. Ryan has also contributed to various other open source projects.

Ryan previously worked at WebLine Communications and continued on at Cisco Systems in the CCBU (Call Center Business Unit) after Cisco acquired WebLine.
